#COVID-19: ORILE-AGEGE LCDA WARD C COUNCILLOR, #OBANLA IBRAHIM TO DONATE HIS MONTH OF JULY SALARY TO PRIVATE SCHOOL TEACHERS.

…Beneficiaries must be residents of Oko-Oba, Orile-Agege Lcda.

…must have a LASRAA ID CARD and a Valid Phone Number.

The councillor representing Ward C, Orile-Agege Lcda in Lagos-Nigeria is set to put smiles on the faces of some Private School teachers adversely affected by #Covid-19 Pandemic sit at home directive by the Federal Government in his Ward.

You will recall the Government directed that all Schools be shut down in the Country as part of efforts to fight and prevent the wide spread of the corona virus amongst students in both public and private schools. The worst hit are the private School teachers whose source of income has been put on hold for over 3 months now.

There have been public outcry from different quarters asking the Government to provide palliatives or give financial support to private School owners and teachers, but nothing seems to be forthcoming.

As part his kind hearted efforts to put smiles on the faces of people, the youngest Councillor in Orile-Agege Lcda has thought it wise to donate his month of July Salary to some affected Private School teachers in Oko-Oba, Orile-Agege Lcda.

In a phone conversation with #AgegeTv Online, he said…

“One child, one teacher, one pen and one book can change the world,’ a quote by the daughter of a teacher, Malala Yousafzai. Rightly so, teachers are the first guiding step in this World”

“Without a mentor over our heads, a guide to distinguish right from wrong, we will all be bodies without Spirit.”

“Today, I A’rakunrin Ishola Ibrahim Obanla, Councillor representing the good People of Orile-Agege Ward C is present here today to express my gratitude to our lovely teachers as my heart bleeds for them most especially PRIVATE SCHOOL TEACHERS during this pandemic era of COVID-19.

With the help of Almighty Allah, I am dedicating and donating my month of July Salary to 30 PRIVATE SCHOOL TEACHERS resident within #OKO-OBA ORILE AGEGE ONLY (WARD C) as part of my contribution to cushion the adverse effect of the #Civic-19 which has forcefully led to the permanent closure of all Private Schools within my ward, thus halting their means and main source of livelihood.”

This gesture will also commemorate his 3years in office as a Servant leader to his Constituents who gave him their trust and mandate to serve and represent them.

The Legislator also said, “I also want to Appreciate all my teachers and mentors that have made me what I am today and provided their wonderful guidance to me at all stages of my life”

“While growing up, the only person we tend to respect after our parents, are our teachers. Because the greatest lessons are learnt in the classroom. Even though many times we may feel that they are a waste, but somewhere after a decade, everything starts coming into practicality, and hence our bookish lessons come to life.”

Teachers may not always be confined to the four walls of a school. They may come in the form of your parents, sibling, soulmate, friends, mentors or simply a companion like your dog.

The small moments with these special people in our lives often leave us spellbound with the lessons we may never learn otherwise.

The presentation will comes up on 30th of July 2020, at Orile Agege Legislative building.
