THE House Leader of Orile-Agege Lcda. in Lagos State has empowered some Youths to acquire different skills in the Local Council Development Area..
Hon. #Fayemi disclosed this today while speaking with #AgegeTvOnline during an interview, Fayemi said that the idea was borne out of his desire to reduce unemployment, eradicate poverty and develop the community.
“The skill acquisition programme will make both youths who are indigenes and non indigenes be self-employed and self-reliant.
“Some of them are graduates without jobs, while some are school certificate holders. This opportunity will ensure that they become independent business owners.
“The capacity building programme will focus on hotel management, textile designing, catering and hairdressing, Cosmetology, fashion designing, cake making and others” he said.
According to him, over 30 Youths have been trained through the #WALEFAYEMI #FOUNDATION adding that the first set of trainees had just completed their training.
The LCDA Legislative Leader lauds the initiative of the NGO, BUNDAKTEN ENTERPRISES his Foundation Partnered with for bringing such opportunity to the Youths of his Council Area, he said that all participants will be closely monitored to ensure they put the knowledge they have acquired to use.
The programme which took place at D.S.Y PRIVATE SCHOOL,102 AMAOO STRT. ORILE-AGEGE will be a continuous effort on his part in giving back to the Youths in his ward and the entire Orile-Agege Local Council Development area.
Fayemi said that the programme was in partial fulfilment of his campaign promise, adding that the LCDA is determined to succeed and “change the face of the community”.
“There is no criterion for selecting indigenes for the programme; we pick them at random from different localities under the council.
“We want to ensure that all the jobless youths are engaged in one skill or the other.
“The training is for both male and female in the community,’’ he said.
