Following the recent visit of the Executive Chairman,Orile Agege LCDA to Public Schools within the LCDA, the Council Chair and Members of the taskforce constituted to see to students and pupils of Public Secondary and Primary Schools maintaining law and order.
The committee which includes the Vice Chairman: Mrs Khafilat Akanni Pedro, Supervisor for Education, the Council Secretary to the Local Government: Hon James Agboola and some Law Enforcement Agents have embarked on the monitoring and sensitization of students in both the Junior, Senior Secondary and Primary Schools within the LCDA on the need for them to stay in School and shun social vices.
The Council Mayor took a bolder step by engaging parents and Guardian of these students in other to get all School age children educated to reduce it, if not eradicate the menace of idleness which leads to unnecessary hooliganism,criminality and the likes.
In one of the meetings held at Oyewole School Complex,some of the parents expressed their gratitude and vouch to give maximum co-operation to compliment the efforts of the the Local Council Development Area.
“We have a role to play as parents to set the foot of our children on the right part by giving them qualitative education i hereby implore you as parents to do the best you can for posterity sake” the council Boss said.
It is a new turn around in Orile Agege to witness a Local Government Administration showing genuine interest in building an emulative future in our children and to upgrade the low educational standard of the past.
Some of the Schools visited are Orile Agege Community High School,Government Senior and Junior Schools,Girls Junior and Senior Schools,Lagos Baptist Secondary School respectively.
