The Honourable Councillor representing Ikeja Lga. Ward D… has reacted to the killing of a promising youth whose life was allegedly cut short by a team of policemen attached to the Anti-cultism squad of Lagos State Police Command, #SARS Operatives over the weekend.
The young politician expressed his displeasure over the incident which claimed the life of the young man while he was watching a football match at a public football viewing Center in Onipetesi, Ikeja Lagos.
He condoled with the family and friends of Kolade Johnson, as he also appealed to the youths to remain calm assuring them that justice will be served. “He said, the team suspected of involvement in the shooting had been arrested and are undergoing disciplinary procedure.
Hon. Adenuga Ayotunde said “My Deepest Condolences to the family and friends of Kolade Johnson.
“I felt so bad when the news got to me that a member of my constituency has been shot dead accidentally, not just a member but a youth for that matter, the news is a rude shock to me and am still in pain. I have visited his family to condole with them and i am confident that justice will be served.
“We can’t open our eyes in a civilized and democratic Country of ours where the rule of law is widely respected and watch police officers whose Constitutional duty is to protect us kill innocent citizens either accidentally or mistakenly.”
“I also seize this opportunity to appreciate the CP, the Press and all parties that has shown concern over the sad occurrence. ” It’s very sad to loose one of us at his prime, my heart bleeds and my eyes is filled with tears. This unjust killing must stop and drastic step must be taken to curb any future occurrence. I am optimistic that justice will prevail.”
Kolade, is known to be a football lover and was loved by everybody before he was sent to an early grave on Sunday, March 31, after being hit by a police officer’s stray bullet during a raid in Lagos. The victim, who was 36 years before his untimely death, was watching the Premier League clash between Liverpool and Tottenham when the tragic incident happened.
