The Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly took to his official Facebook Account recently to clear the air on the reason why the passage of the budget might be delayed.
The number 1 law maker in the state wrote….
There is the need to clear the air on the Budget controversy. While there is no need to apportion blames on the matter, the House is not guilty for the delay in the passage of the 2019 Budget.
No need to apportion blames. We are all representatives of the people and ours is to receive, work, and subsequently pass the budget for the benefit of our people. We have a huge stake on this issue too.
Our stake as Lawmakers is to scrutinize the budget, invite the necessary Ministries, Departments and Agencies, look through their papers before passing the budget. This is why we are here. However, in doing this, we will always follow due process. Our stand is that due process must be followed in this matter. This is our stand.
